Easy Spooky Town Halloween Decoration
This is a project I did a few years back and I just love how easy it was to make, and how versatile it is. I like to use the same decorations year after year, but putting them in the same place each year can get boring. I like to change it up each year and these houses are extremely easy to do that with.
To make it takes very little time and effort. Begin with a plane wood bird house you will find at most craft stores. I used coupons to bring the cost down quite a bit. Feel free to mix and match paper houses with wooden ones. I was worried at first that they would look odd together, but once they were painted, they looked great.
In a well ventilated area, use a flat black spray paint to paint each house. I would highly suggest multiple thin coats of paint rather than fewer thick coats. Too thick of paint will cause drips and those never look good. Instead, take your time and go over each house lightly. It took me about 3 to 4 coats of spray paint to get the finished look.
Now you are done! That easy. I have had these houses a while now and I love how putting them in new places around the house each year, and with different embellishments, keeps them looking amazing. Add giant spiders and birds, maybe a few Halloween figurines. I had mine on an entry way table for a few years, and I did that again this year, but I have since moved them to above the kitchen cabinets. I purchased a few orange string lights from the dollar store and they look amazing! Tea lights work just as well.
I hope you try this easy Spooky Town Halloween Decoration in your home. Start with just a few and add more each year. Happy Halloween!!!!
